

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Resthaven.
Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Tuesday, June 17th at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church with Father David Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Doug was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles Patrick and Mary Georgia (Newton) Grimes on March 13, 1949. He attended school at Sts. Simon and Jude and Guardian Angels Grade Schools and Ahrens Vocational High School.
He worked at JeffBoat Shipyard and was also a small business owner. He was a veteran of The Vietnam War and served in the Army.
He was a devout Catholic, he generously donated to both local and global catholic causes that were close to his heart. He supported the Special Olympics, in honor of his brother Greg. He sent money to multiple organizations to help diminish poverty and hunger.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Grimes, his brothers Phillip and Gregory, his brothers-in-law Shannon Metts, Harmon Clem and Bubby Clayton and his daughter, Nicole Renee.
Doug is survived by his daughters, Christy Grimes-Ludwig and Holly Brown (Jeff), grandchildren Grace, Patrick and Addie, his siblings, Steve, Tom (Pam), Susan (Fred), Charlotte, Donny (Linda), Paula, Nancy (Buck), June, Chris (Josephina) and Mary, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
