Edward Lewis Whitten, 81, of Louisville, passed away December 27, 2025. He was an Army veteran and a duPont Manual High School alumni. He was also a professional photographer, woodworker, upholsterer, and truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilary Whitten and Hazel Bryant; and sisters, Norma Bates and Jewell Loveall. He is survived by his daughters, Tracy Leyton(Howard) and Allison Miller(Jameson); his nephew/son, Jeff Campbell(LaRay); grandchildren, Owen Miller and Annabelle Miller; and nieces and nephews, Tom Bates(Nancy), Debbie Bennison(John), David Bates(Barbara), Robin Roeder, William Campbell, and Richard Campbell.
Funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Evergreen Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am-2pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory can be made to Folds of Honor Foundation, a charity that provides financial assistance for the education of spouses and dependent children of service men/women and first responders who are either killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty.
