

Mrs. Elaine Ann Blandford returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Elaine was born in Charleston, West Virginia on April 15, 1972 to David Ashby, Sr. and the late Joyce Ann (Davis) Ashby.
Elaine was an active and caring woman who spent her life bringing joy to others, even choosing a profession that at the heart of it was about making a difference in people’s lives. Elaine always surrounded herself with her friends and family, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved. Those who knew Elaine will remember her for her generosity of spirit, ability to love and her unwavering commitment to spreading compassion and kindness to everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path. Elaine had a special place in her heart for children and would work with Camp Quality USA to ensure that every child had an opportunity to go to camp.
Beyond her role as Wife, Mother, Mimi, Daughter, Sister, and Friend Elaine had a great love for animals and took comfort in her three fur babies, Chevy, Monkey and Roscoe. They supplied her an endless amount of love and joy.
The last few years were hard on Elaine, but she faced each difficulty with grace and resilience. Elaine’s spirit was fierce, her ability to face adversity inspired others. Elaine took every opportunity to give of herself to someone in need, may that be her legacy and inspire everyone that knew her to do the same, knowing that even small gestures can create a lasting impact.
Elaine was loved and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie Blandford; children, Kaitlyn Ashby, Dustin Blandford, Evan Blandford and Courtney Blandford; grandchildren, Naomi and Bryson; father, David Ashby, Sr.; siblings, Michelle Lear, David Ashby, Jr.; a host of extended family and an army of friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy. There will be a short visitation beginning at 2 pm and will continue after the funeral service until 7:30 pm.
