Born on November 20, 1929, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of Andrew and Mary Pasterick. Eleanor was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jim Casper, her sisters Evelyn Lystad and Arlene Eichler, and her son Jamie Casper.
Eleanor graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Perth Amboy, NJ, in 1947 and she remained lifelong friends with her classmates.
Throughout her life, Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family will always remember her for her unwavering love and the valuable life lessons she shared, often delivered with her distinctive Jersey accent, which she kept even after making Louisville her home for many years.
Eleanor and Jim Casper were married for 71 wonderful years, celebrating a lifetime of partnership and devotion before Jim’s passing in March of this year. Eleanor was a faithful member of St. Albert Church and, alongside Jim, enjoyed golfing as members of Hurstbourne Country Club and the ACES group at St. Albert Church.
Eleanor is survived by her son Bobby Casper (Arlo), daughter Sharon Laub (Jim), and son Mike Casper (Lori). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jessica Capek (Dave), Kelly Keeler (Matt), Jill Luton (Josh), Steven Laub (Mary Cameron), Brady Casper, Ellie Laub, Claire Casper, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Arch L. Heady and Sons Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY on December 16, 2025, 4:00-6:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Albert the Great Church, 1395 Girard Drive, Louisville, KY on December 17, 2025 at 9:30 AM. Interment will be private at Calvary Cemetery.
