

She was born January 17, 1925 in Louisville, the daughter of the late Norman and Theodora (Hohmann) Sauer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Felix John Homeister; an infant daughter, Rose; sisters, Mary Alice Christman and Isabella Randles; brothers-in-law, Charles Sr., Norman and Robert Homeister; sisters-in-law, Viola Adamson, Rose Pendleton, Mary Huber, Aretta Mattingly, Catherine Thompson, Eva Lunsford and a longtime friend, Maxie Nay.
Emily worked in bottling at the Bernheim Distillery for many years and was also a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children, John Homeister and Brenda Homeister; sister, Jeanette Clarkson; granddaughters, Kimberly Yates and Melinda Wilson; great-grandchildren, Brandee and Robin Burgin, Daruis, Tyree and Kaiden Wilson; great-great-grandchildren, Telaysia and Terrodjah Brown and Tristan Mozee; two special friends, Lisa and Les and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 12, 2023 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Ave. Prospect, KY. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
