Ernest Albert Carroll, 90, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away August 22, 2014 at the Donaldson Care Center. He was born on June 8, 1924 in El Paso, Texas. Ernest was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Army where he received two purple heart metals. He was the son of the late Arthur Bruce Carroll and Lylah Francis Shaw.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hagan Carroll; a step son, Kenneth Benson (Joann); two grandchildren, Vanessa Smith and Rod Benson (Janet); and two great grandchildren, Colin and Camilla Benson.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Tuesday August 26, 2014 at 2pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218 with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12-2 on Tuesday at the funeral home.
