Born to the late Ernest and Iva Monroe, Ernie leaves behind his children, William “Billy” Monroe, Veronica Dodge (Paul), Shirley “Sam” Madison (Mark), and Theresa “Tessie” Reese (Marc); along with four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Ernie retired from General Electric. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, with a funeral service in Ernie’s honor beginning immediately at 11:00 am. Ernie will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.
