The matriarch of a loving family, Ethel was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Julian Webster, her brothers Bill and Bob Tellefsen, her son-in-law Mike Casper, and her parents. Her legacy continues through her children: Carl T. Webster (Eileen), Craig A. Webster (Mary Jo), and Neil A. Webster (Barbara), along with her daughter Roberta Casper. She was an adoring aunt to her nephews and nieces, as well as, a cherished grandmother to Leon (Tara), Jessica, and Melissa Webster (Matt Dominic), not to mention her four great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Ethel's professional life was as diverse as it was impactful. During World War II, she served the nation with her precision as a quality assurance inspector on a bomb site and skill building radios. Her firm belief in civic duty led her to the League of Women Voters, where she championed democratic engagement. Always eager to lend her expertise, Ethel volunteered with AARP and Tax Consulting for the Elderly, where she was a trusted resource to many, thanks to her IRS certification achieved in her 50s. Dedicated to youth and education, she was a Den Mother with the Scouts of America, engaged with the Auxiliary Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers, and volunteered with Math Counts, nurturing the minds of future generations.
Ethel's adventurous nature saw her residing in Africa, France, and Germany—experiences that enriched her as much as those she encountered. Always one to embrace the joys of culture and connection, she delighted in square-dancing with the Swinging Y group alongside her beloved husband. She loved animals, making sure all were cared for. She was an avid reader and engaged her intellect with friends through playful word battles.
Generous, intelligent, and undeniably adventurous, Ethel's influence was vast and varied. She embraced knowledge and fostered community with every step. Her century-spanning journey inspired all who knew her, and her light will continue to guide us through the cherished memories she leaves behind.
