He was retired chief master sergeant with the Air Force, a retired employee of the Federal Aviation Administration and a member of Highview Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Schaffner Waters.
Survivors include a son, Brian Waters; daughters, Debra Norris (Charles), Pattie Bowles and Sharon Puckett (Gary); sisters, Betty Williams, Bonnie Barmore and Carol Keener; grandchildren, James Clark, Angela Gorena, Jennifer Clark, Brooke Searcy, Kelly Puckett, Kevin Puckett and Kyle Puckett; great-grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, and Jack; and his loving companion, Margaret Doyle.
His funeral service will be held noon Monday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, followed by burial at Beth Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday.
