Evangeline Lee Howard-Young

Evangeline Lee (Howard) Young, 45, of Louisville, KY, passed away the morning of August 18, 2023 surrounded by husband Dwight Lamar Young, son Jalen DeShawn Garnett, step-daughter, Brittany Nicole Fletcher, mother Pamela Jane (Taylor) Howard, father Paul Edward Howard, brother James Clinton Howard, and numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was deeply loved by all who knew her.

“Vange” was a vibrant, exuberant soul who lit up whatever room she walked in. Sassy was her calling card! To be Vange was to be lively, bold and full of spirit! She was never one to sugarcoat, or tippy toe through life. Her brashness was part of her beauty.

Family and friendships were very important to her, as was her fandom of the Louisville Cardinals. Many Saturdays were spent with her husband and brother cheering on the home team. Nothing brought her family together more than an afternoon of tailgating fun! Additionally, Dwight and Vange were married for 10 years, and loved to make each other laugh, enjoyed vacationing to the beach, and just spending quality time (at home) by the pool.

She was an avid supporter of the Kentucky Organ Donor Association. Her family was impacted by the gift of life, and now (through her own passing) more lives will be extended because of her generosity. Giving and helping others was important to her. For the family and friends she leaves behind, she is greatly missed, BUT her star will always shine the brightest in their hearts.
