Kleber, Frances E., 100, died Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Seneca Place. She was born in 1917, to the late Edward Dalton Hough and Minnie Crenshaw Hough. She was born in Mt. Washington, Kentucky, but the family soon moved to Louisville. She grew up in the Original Highlands and attended Atherton High School. For many years she was a nurse’s aide at the old Baptist Hospital. To get to work, she learned to drive late in life and never had an accident.
She was preceded in death by one sibling, Elizabeth Hough Giesler.
In 1938 she married Joseph H. Kleber and they were together for thirty-five years until his death. They had two children-John Edward Kleber of Louisville and Nancy Kleber Combest of Cincinnati. She is also survived by a son-in-law Craig Combest, a granddaughter Wendy Combest Furbay and three great-grandchildren Kennedy, Hutton and Hadley Furbay, all of Cincinnati. She leaves a myriad of friends with good memories.
She will be remembered as a strong, kind, generous and humble individual, a true representative of the “Greatest Generation.” She lived alone and cared for herself until the age of 98. At Seneca Place she was known as a caring person who had a smile for everyone and tried to do as much as possible for herself. The family expresses its gratitude to the staff of Seneca Place and Hosparus.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 10:00am at Arch L.
