Frances Sara Jane Thomas, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 with her family by her side. Frances was one of the first women to serve in the United States Navy where she served as an Inspector. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Robert F. Thomas who she met while they both served in the Navy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan Livesay(Bob), Robert Thomas Jr.(Lisa), Gail Hamblen, John Thomas(Beverly); six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Frances will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11am in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son FH. 8519 Preston Hwy. Louisville, KY 40219 with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8pm at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
