

Frederick “Fred” Marion Fuchs, Jr., age 93, passed away on January 18, 2026. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 3, 1932, to Frederick Fuchs, Sr. and Cleo Roth Fuchs. Fred was proud of his time serving his country in the US Army. After his enlistment, he worked as a union electrician for IBEW 369 in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was a member for almost 70 years. Fred was a devout Catholic and dedicated much of his life to Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus for many years. He loved playing golf, sitting on the porch watching sunsets, and occasionally enjoyed drinking Early Times (which he lovingly called “AM”). Above all, Fred was a loving husband and dad, who devoted his life to his family. He will be missed.
Along with his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his son in law, Rob Stivers, and many other beloved family members.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life for 73 years, Helen Clark Fuchs; his children, Fred Fuchs III (Suzanne), Mary Jo Stivers, Michael Fuchs (Angie), Beverly Burton (Tommy), Steve Fuchs, Donna Williams (Jim), and Tammy Melloan (Dave); 12 grand children; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and his siblings, David P. Fuchs, Janis Barfield (Keith), and Rita Waters (Bob).
A visitation for Fred will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Louisville, Kentucky, with a graveside service to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky where he will be laid to rest.
