He was born Linden, Tennessee to the late William and Mollie Qualls on August 27, 1929.
Fred was a retired foreman for General Electric with 36 years of service and an Army veteran of the Korean Way, where he received the Purple Heart. He was also a Mason and Kosair Shriner. Fred was also an avid fisherman and golfer.
Fred is survived by his wife of 70 years, Claudine Rush Qualls; children, Brenda Goodman and Kenneth Qualls (Donna); and grandchildren, Brian, Sean, and Charlie. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason.
His funeral service will be held at 12:00 Friday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 10 am -12 pm Friday. In accordance with the latest COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be permitted in limited numbers.
