Gary had one of the most beautiful souls I've ever  been blessed to know.   I've thought of him  on a regular basis the last 7 years and only now  have been able to  encompass to the best of my abilities what he meant and continues to mean in my life....love always to my friend.

It has been four years now since you received your Angel Wings.  As so many other people have told me, the pain will never leave me.but step by stepwe have to go on.  Your passing and your life here has opened my eyes to all the wonders around me. I find I can smile and laugh again especially when you send me a sign telling me that you will always be with me. Your personal Letter to God, that you left behind is a daily reminder of keeping me on the right path.  

Your way of getting so excited about things small or large is so contagious, that's when I feel your presence most.  I'm sure you were with me and Rachel & Jessica when they took me to Disneyland in October. You have left me with the courage to be on my own and be strong, and venture out of my shell and enjoy and experience life the way you did.  I still hear your words to me daily  Mom you are stronger than you think you are  and then your other reminder to me  Mom, YOU don't need anybody.  Love who you are.  I thank God daily for sending you to me..I thank Him for the 40 years that I had you..and I have never questioned Him for taking you home.  Love, Mom

Gary Wayne, my baby boy, my son. September 20, 1973, the day you entered this world and became a constant presence in my life... Such a knowing little boy in so many ways.  I didn't understand then the depth of your thoughts or where you acquired such wisdom.  You fulfilled your mission here in such a short time, but always you leave us wanting more!  Your laughter, your witty sense of humor, your childlike excitement of sharing new adventures.  Our world here will never be the same until we can be side by side with you in Gods presence.  One think you have taught me..No Fear... Just trust and follow God and everything will be alright... Ours is not to question God, now or ever.  Our Almighty  Father is always in charge.  My tears will never stop from missing you, but my heart swells with so much pride for having known you and having you call me Momma..  Happy 43rd Birthday, My Baby Boy!

Sunday, September 20th would have been your 42nd birthday here on earth. Instead you get to spend another birthday with Our Dear Heavenly Father and with so many wonderful friends and family that all love you as dearly as we do.  I think of you so often with Jordan and Angie, Nanny & Papaw, as a little boy with Daddy, or you playing games with Amy, and just waiting for the day we will all be there with you too.

I can still feel your presence surrounding me no matter where I am or what I am doing.  Our lives will never be the same without you here, but by keeping you with us everyday, in everything we do, I hope that will make us better people and that we will be ready when God calls us home.

Our eyes have been opened to the way you lived each day, always helping others and never taking things for granted.  Always with a smile and a twinkle in your eye.

I am so thankful I was allowed to be your Mother and as much as I miss you everyday, it is not meant for us to question God's plan.

Gary Wayne..........A year a ago I was praying that I would come and see you with a "Big Smile" on your face and that you would be coming home soon. But, God had a different plan for you. He wanted you with him. I know that you are the Guardian Angle for your mother, Kelly, Rachel, Cory, Jessica, and everyone you "Loved". I miss your smiling face and all of the conversations that we had. There are times that I look around and see you everywhere. You are the son that I wish that I could of had. I just today learned of Gary's passing.  I want to thank his family and friends for the opportunity to share time with Gary.  Gary personified the dedication to love that makes the world a better place.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially Austin...hang in there.

I worked with Gary at IUMCH and he was a WONDERFUL person!  I will always remember the Star Wars Film Festivals, The Disney movie marathons.  He brought smiles and laughter to all around him.  My prayers for his family and friends.

Sherry, I did not know Gary Wayne, but you always glowed when you talked about your children. I will keep you and your family in my prayers during this difficult time.

Gary was such a phenomonal man and I will miss him so very much..While I had only known him for a little over a year, he had quickly become one of my favorite people to talk to, sharing many common interests from the work we do, being single parents, to the shows we watched. He was always there for me when I needed him, always made things better, and always made me laugh. I will carry him in my heart always and will strive to be like the person that he was. Austin, your father loved you more than anything on this earth, He talked of you so often that I feel as though I know you even though we have never met. Know that he is your gaurdian angel and will be with you always

I worked with Gary at St. Joe's coordinating admissions ever since Austin came to live with him.  Even though the nature of the work could be frustrating at times, Gary's positive attitude was always a breath of fresh air.  He was truly a good person and one of the most dedicated and diligent dads I have ever known.  I pray that Gary is resting peacefully and somehow realizes how much he was appreciated by so many.  St. Joe's has suffered a great loss.  Love and miss you Gary; looking forward to giving you a big hug one day when we meet again.

I only knew Gary through working with his son, Austin, several years back.  I was Austin's teacher.  I spoke with Gary quite a bit over the phone and sometimes in person.  I knew him to be a very nice man, very positive and always nice to talk to or see.  He was a supportive and responsive parent who always wanted what was best for Austin.  I'm sorry for your loss, Austin.  Loss is tough, there's no easy way to deal with it.  Your dad really loved you.  I hope you can keep that love with you and his memory alive in your heart forever and let that keep your actions and future bright, because you live on in his legacy.

I didn't know Gary Wayne until seven years ago when I married his wonderful mother. During these years I grew to Love him as a son. It is like everyone has said about him that he never met a stranger. He not only touched my heart but he has left an ever lasting loving touch on my soul. I will always remember the times that we sit and talked about Star Wars, Superman, X Men, and other things we had in common.

I know that he is in a galaxy far, far away and that he is a "True Superman".

Everyday since the beginning of Gary's illness I prayed for a miracle..I asked my family and friends to pray for a miracle. That is what we needed. Today I realize that God gave me just that..For 40 years I was blessed and fortunate enough to have the miracle of a baby brother, Gary Wayne! The relationship that Gary and I had as brother and sister was full of love, laughs, hope, and sometimes tears.  My heart is truely broken and there will forever be an absence in my life.  I find peace and comfort knowing he is now the angel that I already knew he was.  Always.. Sissy!

My sincere sympathy to Gary's family. I am friends with his Sister, Kelly who always spoke highly of her brother. May God's love and your earthly friendships bring comfort to Gary's family.

I never knew Gary personally, but we would email each other patient information needed for billing purposes for the children at St. Joe.  Sometimes we would talk on the phone.  We would always send smiley faces on our correspondence (not considered professional), but he was a cheerful person and his correspondence containing well wishes would always brighten my day.  I'm so sorry for your family's loss of Gary.  I will miss his emails and his voice.

I have had the honor of knowing Gary for the past 10 years, as a co-worker and more importantly as a friend. I have been searching in my head for all the right words to describe him and encompass what an incredible loss this world has suffered and know that there really are none. Instead I will say Thank-You! Thank-you Gary for everything, for being my team-mate and co-worker, for sharing parenting dramas and joys, for morning conversations and evening calls, for family stories, planning theme parties, soccer games, good movies, bad Subway, celebrations, the very occasional drink, dreams and goals, and the thousands of hours of conversations about life in every aspect . Thank-you most of all though for the gift of true friendship and acceptance. I am a better person for it. I know that you are watching over us all and that we'll carry a piece of you with us always. I was so very sorry to learn of Gary's recent illness and of his passing. I was a little older than Gary but he and I knew each other thru our days as members of Newburg Christian Church.  He always had a smile on his face, always a kind word to say.  He was so very proud of his son Austin and he loved him very much.  We had lost touch but we became Facebook friends and kept up with each other that way for the past several years.  My heart aches for his entire family.  He is at home with the Lord and we all will have such special memories of him.  Prayers and love to all of the family and may God give you strength and comfort in the difficult days ahead.

It has been a long time since I worked with Gary, but I remember always laughing with him.  He was such a sweet and fun person to be around.  I feel blessed to have worked with him and call him a friend!

I did not know Gary Wayne for a long time. But he was a great man and a wonderful father to Austin. Tho we weren't neighbors very long I sill called him my friend as I did with Austin. Life and death never have answers but I know God got a very special angle in Gary Wayne and that he will be watching Austin grow up into the man he can be. I was priviledged to be a co worker with Gary at IUMCH and at St. Joes. We got to be best of friends this past year.  He always made everyone feel better.  I will miss him.

I worked with Gary for about four years at IUMCH in Temple Hall. He was a wonderful co-worker. Gary was always so positive and no matter how stressful the situation had a great sense of humor. Gary made all the kids he worked with feel special at a time in their life when things were not so good. Gary had an ability to always have a positive outlook and see good in anyone and everyone. I loved hearing his stories and he always made me laugh. We lost contact through the years after he left IUMCH but through the power of Facebook we were able to re connect. I will miss him and know that he has helped to make this world a better place. Rest in Peace Gary and know that you touched many people!
