George Charles Dawson, 80, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025. He was born in Gallipolios, Ohio on December 21, 1944 to the late Charles "Ray" and Lillian Dawson. George served his country in Vietnam in the US Army. He was a computer programmer and an avid fisherman.
George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years,Carol Bearden Dawson; his parents, Charles "Ray" and Lillian Dawson; sister, Carol Buck Pack; and his brother, Daniel "Danny" Dawson.
Left to cherish George's memory are his sons, Brent Dawson (Michelle), Bart Dawson (Mary), Doug Dawson (Maria); grandchildren, Brandon, Holly, Ryan, Troy, Devin, Megan, Christopher, Ethan, Emma and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Matt, Chandler, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Peggy Dawson; and several extended family members and dear friends.
A memorial gathering for George will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 3pm until 7pm at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home - Okolona, 8519 Preston Highway, 40219. Inurnment will be Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 10am at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations in George's honor should be directed to The Wounded Warrior Project.
