Gladys M. Bennett, 91, of Louisville, passed away on the morning of December 28, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East. She was the former Gladys Sidebottom, a homemaker and a lady that loved to dance. She liked to play cards and go to the VFW Post in New Albany, and generally have a good time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard L. Bennett Sr. and son, Richard L. Bennett Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joanne G. (John) Zufelt, Virginia Castillo and Norman L. (Lisa) Bennett; grandchildren, John L. (Pam) Everett, Rachel Harrigan, Erin "Jodi" Vaughn, Joseph Bryan (MaryKay) Barfield, Michael A. Barfield, Kimberly K. (Greg) Sheets, Krystal D. Lawson and Kelly L. Bennett; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Gladys' Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. till service time at the funeral home.
