Gladys was born on June 16, 1925, in Shepherdsville, KY. She was one of ten children born to Jess and Lula Mae Peacock. During her life, she lived in Shepherdsville, Louisville, and Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Gladys was a Kentucky Colonel since 1976. She owned several businesses: a liquor store, bar, and a night club. After retiring, Gladys enjoyed working in her yard and going to her lake house on Nolin Lake.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, William Brown; her parents and her nine siblings. She is survived by her only daughter Brenda Campbell (Dan); granddaughter Holly Blake (Adam); and great-granddaughters Zoe, Olivia, and Adelai Blake. She will forever be remembered as their rock, strength, and friend.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday morning at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.
