Golden Percy Fox, Jr., 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Baptist Hospital. An avid UK fan, Golden was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a lifetime member of the Plumber/Pipefitter’s Local #502, spending many years on the road, returning each weekend to coach and mentor young men on the baseball field. His influence and love of the game stretched far and wide.
Fox was instrumental in the formation of the M.A.B.A. with his team the “Golden Nine”, which provided college players the opportunity to play while home during the summer term. He was a passionate care giver to his Mary and truly enjoyed his grandchildren along with his great grand’s. He will be sorely missed by the many lives he so greatly enriched.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Doerr. Golden is survived by his five children; Cliff Buechel (Cathy), Elizabeth Bustanoby (Pete), Beverly Osborn (Stan), Golden Percy Fox, III “Buddy”, and Ruth Charlene Brown, five grandchildren; Joshua Buechel (Kim), Jeremy Bustanoby (Christina), Katie Likens, Heather Kuntz (Thompson), and Heidi Osborn, great-grandchildren; Jonah and Myles Buechel, along with Sophia Likens.
A Celebration of Golden’s Life will be conducted Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 9:30am until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
