Grace Elaine Sanders

Born in Seattle, WA on January 1, 1919, to William and Lillian Loudon. She graduated from Glendale High School, Glendale, CA. She served as a United States Navy WAVES recruiter during World War II in Erie, PA. She married William Franklin Sanders in 1944, while he was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard in Toledo, OH. She was also secretary of Sanders Real Estate until the death of her husband Bill in 1963.

She was a member of Okolona Baptist Church for 65 years and volunteer at Louisville Free Public Library (Okolona Branch).

Survivors include her son, Dr. William L. Sanders (Judy); daughters, Patti Worley (Steve), Bonnie Carter (Paul), and Cheryl Branch (Laurance); grandchildren, William Branch, John Sanders (Brandi), Meredith Carter Caple (Justin), John Paul Carter, Meghan Worley, Tyler Worley, and Austin Worley; great-grandchildren, Will Sanders, Hilari Sanders, and Caroline Grace Caple.

Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Okolona Baptist Church, 9301 Preston Hwy. Burial at Pennsylvania Run Memorial Park. Visitation: Friday 2-8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Okolona. Family will begin to receive visitors at 10 a.m. Saturday until service time at the church.
