She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Lawrence Sims.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Sims and Rita Sims Woods (Rusty); sister, Beulah Wood; granddaughter, Carol Lynn Cook Bridges (Mike); great-grandson, Lawrence Braden Bridges; stepgrandchildren, Amy Woods Harley (Dean), Chris Woods (Lael) and Ben Woods (Lena); stepgreat-grandchildren, Gerid and Shelby Bridges, Colleen Harley and Talia Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 770 Eastern Parkway, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that donations in Helen's name be directed to her church.
