

Herman J. Epperson, Jr., 82, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at his home, on the evening of November 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was a retired firefighter for the Louisville Fire Department. Herman was a member of Meadowview Presbyterian Church where he did a lot of volunteer work; fixing anything that needed repair and helping shut-ins get to church. He loved square dancing, old movies, reading history novels and biographies and was also a member of The Arts Club of Louisville. Herman served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Left cherishing his memory is his wife of 15 years, Louise Schroader Epperson; children; sons, David (Cindy) and Michael (Shannon) Epperson; daughter, Teresa Epperson; sister, Patricia Davison; grandchildren, Eric (Kristin) Kouka, Kimberly Kouka (Chris) Zepeda; Sondra Mehler; four step-daughters, Renee (Denny) Coyne, Rebecca (Rocky) Reynolds, Jacqueline (Tony) Beatrice, Rhonda (Phillip) Jasgarszewski; mother of his children, Bette Epperson; seven step- grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Life Celebration service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Meadowview Presbyterian Church, 2944 Breckinridge Lane, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road. He will lie in state at church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. till service time.
