Mary Elizabeth Higgins, 72, of Louisville, passed away after a lengthy illness on the morning of May 2, 2016, at Norton Suburban Hospital. She was the former Mary VonDouris and a native of San Diego. CA, but spent most of her life in Menter ,OH.
Mary was a claims adjuster for Humana when she retired, along with being a homemaker. Her family meant the world to her, especially the apple of her eye, her grandson, Parker. Mary attended Mount Washington United Methodist Church but often visited Broadway Baptist Church as she loved to hear Parker sing and perform in the church choir.
Left cherishing her memory is her daughter, Colleen VanHouten; her son, Ronald Patrick Higgins; and her grandson, Parker VanHouten, along with countless friends.
A Life Celebration memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
