Hubert Lee Whitfill Jr., 92 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. He was born in the west end of Louisville and attended Saint Borromeo Catholic Church. Hubert was an Army Engineer Veteran of WWII. He was also retired from International Harvester and was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and St. Vincent DePaul Society. Charter member, Honorary life member and past Grand Knight of St. John XXIII Council 5634 and 4th degree Knight of Columbus of Msgr. Bouchet Assm. #308 and PFN of the assembly. Hubert enjoyed camping and fishing at Rough River. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Mary Catherine Whitfill and granddaughter, Melanie Whitfill. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Timothy Lee Whitfill(Barbara), Richard Anthony Whitfill; grandchildren, Kimberly Hughes(Troy), William Atherton(Amanda), Kelli Bright(Jeremy); step granddaughter, Stacy Herdt(Scott); and seven great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 12pm at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy. Louisville, KY 40219 with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
