

Imma Jean Ragland, aged 93, from Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on December 18, 2025. She lived life to the fullest, embracing every chance to explore the world, savor delightful meals, and cherish precious moments with her family and friends. Imma dedicated her life to uplifting others by enhancing their beauty. As a devoted beautician, she went above and beyond for her clients—offering rides when they could no longer drive, pampering them, and ensuring their safe return home. Her kindness and generosity left an enduring impact on countless lives.
Imma was also deeply committed to giving back to those in need. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and other charitable organizations, consistently working to make a positive difference in her community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Carlton and Julia M. Carlton; her twin sister, Emma Wimberly; and her son, Eric Smith. She is survived by her loving sister, Julia Elizabeth Carter; her granddaughter, Erica Smith; her longtime friend, Bonnie Coffield; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Meals on Wheels, Dare to Care, and St. Vincent De Paul.
