Duncan, James Roy “Red”, 91, passed away on November 1, 2017 at Baptist Health of Louisville. Red was a Navy Veteran who fought for his country in Normandy during WWll. He was a long time member of Westport Road Baptist Church. He was a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge of Tennessee for over 50 years and also a proud member of the NAWCC.
Red is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Gorham Duncan; daughters, Lori Kaelin (John) and Becki Mershon (Scott); grandchildren, Shawn, Stuart, Matt, Ryan, and Chris; his brother-in-law Bob Gorham; and many other nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
He was preceded in passing by his son James Roy Duncan ll.
Red was a wonderful husband and a very loving and caring father and grandfather. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique clocks and was an avid gardener. He will be greatly missed.
A service to celebrate Red’s life will be held at 1 PM on Monday, Nov. 6 at the Arch L Heady at Westport Village funeral home, 7410 Westport Rd. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until time of service on Monday with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East Cemetery.
