

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Clyde Richard Hancock, Sr., and Sadie Mae Johnson Hancock.
Jim was a graduate of Trinity High School Class of 1973, where he was a member of the Wrestling, Cross Country and Track teams, and the University of Louisville. Jim was a Nuclear Medicine and Radiology Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Manager and Radiology Manager in a career spanning 45 years, most recently at SMIL in Arizona.
Jim had a great sense of humor and loved playing pranks on his family and friends. He even played practical jokes while in the hospital, just 2 days before he died. Most of all, Jim was a family man, who loved being with his children and grandchildren more than anything. Whethr a softball game, dance recital, band an, choir performances, wrestling, football & soccer games, Jim would be cheering them on, proud as could be.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Jan) Bland Hancock, and by children Julia Hancock Payne, Jamie Leigh Hancock (Dan Hickey) and Joan Marie Hancock Moore. Grandchildren Heather Payne Schulz (Jared), Dustin Payne, Caden Schmitt; Ashleigh Taylor; Elizabeth Moore & Scott Moore; Great Grandchild Maverick Schutz and bonus Great Grandchildren Avory Hickey. Luna Mathis and Devina Mathis.
Jim is survived by his sister, Patricia Hancock Borromeo and brothers Clyde Richard Hancock, Jr. (Sally, dec'd) and George A. Hancock (Cindy). Jim is also survived by brother in law Billy Bland (Susan) and sister in law Debra Bland Copeland (Jack, dec'd); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held April 4, 2024 from 4-8pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, Ky. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am 4/5/2024 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 2825 Klondike Lane, Louisville, with burial following at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to St. Anne Catholic Church, 440 East Elliot Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234.
