James Albert Harper, 80, passed away October 26, 2021. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Springfield, KY where he sang in the Brotherhood Choir. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Army. He then went on to serve his community in law enforcement for Jeffersontown Police Department, West Buechel Police Department, and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. James was also Chief of Police for Hollow Creek Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife Odessa Harper and son James Harper Jr.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Reginald Harper (Dana), grandson Zachary Harper and fianceé Deborah Newby.
A service to honor the life of James will be held Tuesday, November 2nd at 2pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 11am until the start of the service.
