He was retired from the old Bell South Telephone Company.
He was a member of the retired Telephone Pioneers, a former Overdale Youth Football Coach and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dimple Hildebrand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Hildebrand; a son Jason Hildebrand; a daughter, Jenifer Hildebrand; a brother, Butch (Tammy) Hildebrand; sisters, Sharon (James) Wiseman and Karen Dillihay; adopted children, Leigh Smith, Gary Shu, Sonia and Michael Hibbard, Brandy and Cindy Reynolds, Kristine Thompson; adopted siblings, Roy Reynolds, Robin Reynolds and Robert Farrell; 11 adopted grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at noon p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
