
Jim, as he was known by his friend and co-workers, retired from Regional Airport Authority after over 30 years of service. For more than 20 years, he worked in construction and remodeling for homes all over Louisville. Jim bowled in the Lumberman's League for 33 years, receiving many trophies.
Coleman, as he was known to his family, was born in Jefferson County, KY on September 30, 1935. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert T. Marshall, mother and stepfather, Bertha (Fisher) and C. Golden Brown, siblings, Marcella, Charles, and Ernie, and step siblings, Jimmie, Juanita, Helen and Dean.
Coleman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Baumgardner Marshall; children, Debbie Crawford (J.R.), Janice Marshall (Walter S.) and Ronnie Marshall (Belinda); grandchildren, Marcella (Patrick), Jessica (James L.), Megan, Wyatt and Erica; great grandchildren, Colvin, and soon to be born, Brayden; and sisters, Eleanora and Betty.
A service honoring the life of Coleman will held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, noon-8 p.m.
