He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Bellarmine College.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Riggs) Mitchell; children, Roger Mitchell (Tammy), Ronald Mitchell (Karen), Michael Mitchell, Sheila Brown (Danny), Jessica Adams and Amanda Mills; two brothers, Jerry and Billy Cook; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Mitchell will be noon on Saturday at Evergreen Funeral Home with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday.
