James was a Navy veteran and retired from the Louisville Police Department. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Richard Trusty.
He leaves behind four sons, Donald Kevin, Michael Patrick (Teresa), Gregory Scott, and John Fitzgerald (Kim); Eight grandchildren, Morgan, Ian, Donald, Stephen, Dylan, Jessica, Taylor, and Cory; and eight great grandchildren.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home with a funeral service at 1:00 PM and burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
