He was a retired employee with GE, worked as a security officer for Baptist Health, he enjoyed building model cars and was an avid UK fan. What he really enjoyed, was spending time with his grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sharon Winstead, their daughter, Joy Dennis and husband David, a brother, Gary Winstead and wife Tammy, a sister, Darlene Thompson. Six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nieces, one great niece and one great nephew.
A funeral service to celebrate James’ life will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 3-8pm on Monday, November 27, 2017.
