He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Louisville. He graduated from Dupont Manual High school in Louisville and attended college where he was a basketball star. He worked and retired from The Hersey Company (formerly Delmonico).
Jamie Priest loved all sports, but his favorite was basketball. The Louisville Cardinals were his favorite team. He supported all of University of Louisville’s sporting events as they allowed him to enjoy quality time with his friends and family during the games. He loved everyone: his family, friends, and extended family members. Everyone who had a part in his life loved him as well and was greatly impacted by his love and concern. He will truly be missed.
On December 18, 2020, our Almighty God called Jamie Priest home. He is now enjoying a glorious reunion with those who loved him and preceded him in death. He is with his parents, David and Doshie Priest, and two brothers, Raymond Bigham and Sammie Priest.
Jamie is survived by his children, Corey Priest, Andre’ Turner-Priest, Deon Priest, Deshaun Priest, Jamisha Priest, Kiara Davis-Priest; six grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Montrell Mason, Destiny Turner, Tayshawn Walker, Isaiah Priest, Byron Priest; four great grandchildren, Montrell Mason Jr, Kantrell Mason, La’Trell Mason, Daeyla Wickliffe; sister Linda (Chauncey) Warren; two brothers Billy (Barbara) Bigham, David Priest Jr; and a host, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
“But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJV)
