She was born August 13, 1923 in Jackson, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Violet Davis Hadden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Elliott Lowry.
Jane was a Registered Nurse, having worked for the Department of Public Health in Jefferson County. She was also a member of the Jeffersontown United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for the youth, she also donated time with the American Red Cross for disaster relief.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Wayne Douglas Lowry and wife Lynne and David Allen Lowry and wife Mary Jo and two grandsons, Jonathan Allen Lowry and Justin Allen Lowry.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 - 8 PM on Tuesday and from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
