“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:21
Janet Louise Crume, age 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Monday, July 21, 2025.
A woman of unwavering faith and quiet strength, Janet was the heart of her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and a friend to many. She leaves behind a legacy rooted in prayer, compassion, and the kind of honorable love that comes only from a life lived in service to others. She gave all of herself, quietly and fully, never asking for anything in return except love and time.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert D. Crume Sr. and is now joyfully reunited with him in Heaven, along with their son, Robert Crume Jr., and grandson, Benjamin Jackson.
Janet was a devoted mother to Karen Donlin (Jack), Debbie Bridges (Jim), Timothy Crume Sr. (Angela), and Steven Crume. She was also the adoptive mother of Marla Hatfield (Jamie) and shared a special bond with her late son’s wife, Carmen.
She was a proud grandmother to Robert D. Crume III (Holly), Christine Sowers (Cory), Jodie Brophy (Garvan), Tim Crume Jr. (Shelbi), and Shannen Henson (David). She also leaves behind a large family of great-grandchildren and two precious great-great-grandchildren—each one deeply blessed by her prayers and her love.
Janet was the glue that held generations together. A listening ear. A calming voice. A steady hand. Her life was her testimony. Her love and time were her gifts. She was our safe place, our prayer warrior, and our greatest supporter. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her love will forever carry us forward.
We will live on in the promise of eternal reunion and peace. In remembrance of her way of saying,
“Don’t cry for me, I’m going home.”
