Janet Wiedmeyer

Jan was born on January 8, 1949 in Ypsilanti, MI to Ardis and Alfred Wallis. She grew up in Ypsilanti, where she graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1967. She married her husband of 56 years, Dennis Wiedmeyer, on June 7,1968.

Jan is survived by her husband, children Matt (Amy) Wiedmeyer, Racheal Wiedmeyer, Krista Wiedmeyer of Louisville, granddaughter Alexandria (Frank) Wiedmeyer of LaGrange, KY, great-granddaughters Avery Wiedmeyer and Arya Slagle of LaGrange, KY and brother Patrick (Rebecca) Wallis of Grand Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and twin brother, Jeffrey Wallis.

Jan was known for the love of her family and being with her besties. She loved to sew, knit and quilt and knitted hats and blankets for premature infants at Coastal Carolina Hospital. Jan loved to spend a great day at the beach or playing Mah Jong.

A private viewing will be held for family in Louisville, Ky. A Celebration of Life in Michigan will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ronald McDonald House of Kentuckiana or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The family wishes to thank the amazing ICU staff at Norton’s Audubon Hospital for their care and compassion to Jan and her family.
