Jean Liza Lee, 57, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on December 9, 2025 after a courageous two-year battle with illness. Born December 28, 1967, Jean faced each day with a childlike wonder, a generous spirit, and a fiercely loyal love for her family.
Jean’s warmth touched everyone she met. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—music, movies, games, books, and food—and she had a soft spot for gummy bears that brought a smile to her face. Above all, she loved her family deeply and cherished the bond she shared with her mom, a love that remained ever-present even as she missed her for seven years.
She is survived by her siblings: Dr. Christine Um, Unju Angela Kimble and Troy O’Neal, Unjin Kim and Jay Kim; her beloved boyfriend, Paul Bartac; and her nephews, Shane Kimble, Ian Kimble, Nathan Kim, Alex Um, and Christopher Um, along with many cherished family members and friends who supported her throughout her life.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at Bourbon Bistro, Louisville, Kentucky, on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM. All who knew Jean are welcome to attend and share in the memories of a life lived with kindness, laughter, and an enduring love for those she held dear.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association in Jean’s memory.
