

She was born on July 31, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to parents’ Leroy Mathis, Sr. & Leona Davis – Mathis. She was a retired security guard for Central High School with Jefferson County Public Schools. She was a member at West End Church of Christ at 4401 West Broadway. Jeanetta loved to roller skate and was known for her skating. She had a deep passion for music, like gospel, Spanish and African, anything with good beats. She also loved to dance, swaying to music while sitting, even to commercial jingles. Jeanetta loved her family and church family. Her biggest devotion was her belief in God and keeping the faith. She attended church whenever her health allowed. She loved to travel and has been to many faraway places like family trips, Hawaii, Germany, cruises to islands, etc… too many to name.
Preceding her in death, are her parents, Leroy Mathis, Sr. & Leona Davis – Mathis; husband, Theodis Cook; daughters, Mia Cook – Finn & Donrita Cook – Samuels; brothers & sisters, Randall Curry, Ruth Ella Munford, & Gregory Mathis; & son – in – law, Timothy Tucker.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Tamula Tucker; grandchildren, Kimberly Tucker, Julian Cross, Tyler Cross, Mia Samuels & Miles Cook; great – grandchildren, Raymon Tucker, Tristan Cook, Julian Cross,Jr., Mi’Joi Cross, Keevina “Muddy” Brittle, Ilan Paris Samuels – Keller, & Bella Yelder – Cross; plus, a host of other relatives, in – laws and friends to mourn her passing.
