Jeffrey Alan Sample

Graduated from Jeffersontown High School in 1972 and shortly after joined the Army where he trained at Fort Knox as an Army Ranger. He graduated from JCC with an Associate's Degree in Nursing.

For over 30 years he worked as a nurse. He began his career at Jewish Hospital. For the last 18 years he was the night shift nurse at St. Mathews Care Center where he cared for his patients like they were family. When families would see Jeff was the caregiver, they knew they were in good hands.

Jeff was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. When he wasn't at work you could find him at the golf course. He had a special love for animals too.

At home you would see him relaxed in his recliner with a good cup of coffee in one hand and the other arm wrapped around the cat or dog. His family he will forever hold dear to his heart.

He is survived by his wife Tammy Sample. Sister Cheryl Stuart. Stepchildren Tammy Russell, Tim Baker, Kevin Baker, Tim Abbott, Daniel Abbott, Luke Abbott, Naomi Brown.

Grandchildren Adam, Meagan, Chelsey, Ashley, Jordan, Sarah, Devin, Katie, Courtney, Kavla (Kiki) Aubree, Malachi, Adelyn, Evelyn, and Madelyn. Many great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.

Many more family, friends, and co-workers. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin Sample and Sueno "Sue" Fujio, first wife of 30 years Amber Sample and stepdaughter Lisa Linton.
