He was a vibration analyst for LG&E and had worked for Naval Ordnance and Raytheon, and was an Army veteran.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Shepherd, and his siblings Samuel, Stanley, and Donald Shepherd.
Survivors include his loving wife Nancy Fitzpatrick Shepherd; sons Jeremy and Nick Shepherd; granddaughters Alyssa, Raylee, and Aurora Shepherd; and siblings, Patricia Turner, Peggy Bratcher, Betty Copeland, Marsha Tate, Stevie Shepherd, Joey Shepherd, and Lisa Meredith; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at the family cemetery in Olaton, KY. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Wednesday.
