Jessie Holcomb

She was born as Jessie G. West on September 16, 1933, in Roane County, West Virginia. She settled in Louisville, Kentucky in 1967.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Don Deo Holcomb, her only daughter , Anita Ann Holcomb Kesterson, her parents, Lizzie and Haymond West, and her brother Maxwell West.

She is survived by a sister Virginia Callow of Spencer, West Virginia, and her three sons Douglas Holcomb, Richard Holcomb, and Joseph Holcomb, all of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, She will also be missed by her five grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Aprill Dawn Kesterson, Joshua Holcomb, Samuel Holcomb, and Bradley Holcomb, six great-grandchildren as well as the children of her only brother and sister.

Her funeral service will be at 6:00 P.M Tuesday , at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Okolona. Visitation 2:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Cremation is to follow.

She will be remembered for her caring and generous nature, her intense wit and her “straight forward” demeanor, which was often construed as just a bit stubborn, but her selfness nature helped all those lucky enough to know her.

Though she may not have noticed, the world is a better place because of her.
