John  Very sorry for your loss.  Pastor Carter was amazing, preaching right up to the end of his life.  A true patriot and Christian.  I remember when he came to honor my third cousin, Sylvester Kellerman, when Syl died some many years ago now.  The extended family really appreciated your father's love expressed at the funeral. Love and prayers for Rev. Carter's family.  He was our preacher from 1951 until I moved to Tennessee in the 70's.  I loved growing up in that church. My parents (Ken and Carolyn Clark) moved down here several years ago and they wish to offer condolences also.

So sorry to see Rev. John Carter has passed. He married us 50 years ago on Sept.3rd.He was a wonderful person. and will be missed by all.

I've only heard a handful of Bro Carter's sermons, but he really did know his stuff. He was a great man, pastor, husband, and more. He will be missed by a lot of people. Keeping his wife, family, friends, and church family in our prayers.

Brother Carter baptized me, was my neighbor and later married me to my Bob.  He shared the pulpit with Father Joe Graphis because Bob was Catholic.  He is one of the most honest people i've ever known and a true servant of God.

Bro John married us in 1957 in the new sanctuary at OBC.  His sermons were always thought-provoking.  He was the most learned and informed person I ever met.   He is sorely missed.

It's difficult to say good bye to one who was such a good friend to my family over the years. His passing truly marks the end of an era for OBC. My heart-felt love and caring go to Rev. Carter's family and the congregation.

Bro. Carter was so gracious to me when I was called to Okolona Presbyterian Church nearly 12 years ago as the first woman minister called to that church, and only the second in our Ministerial Association. I will never forget his kindness and generosity. He was a great pastor and loving colleague in ministry. He will be greatly missed.

Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.  I knew Bro. Carter from Rockbridge.  He married us 43 yrs. ago here in Louisville.  He was a great person.

Our deepest and heartfelt Condolences go out to the Carter family. What an amazing and full life that Pastor Carter had lived. A great and dedicated  representative of "Our Father in Heaven", and now one of God's soldier's in the preparation of the final plan! It was an honor and pleasure to have known him, and all known he is serving well in heaven!
