John Raymond Gipson Jr., 60, of South Louisville passed from this life on Thursday April 16, 2015 at his home. John was a welder and boiler maker for many years and was a supporter of veterans everywhere. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ozell Gipson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, the former Colleen Boone; a son, Brian Gipson (Dana) a daughter, Cassie Burks (Jimmy); his father and step mother, John Gipson, Sr. & Margaret; a sister, Patty Moran (Billy Jekel); brothers, Gary (Barbara), Joseph (Missy), Michael and P. C. Gipson (Missy); step brother, Calvin Hobdey; step sister, Mary Stogner; grandchildren, Erica & Cody Gipson, Morgan and Jonah Burks; and his extended family. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at noon Monday in the southern chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
