He was retired as a general manager at Meadow Gold after forty five years of employment. John was a Navy Veteran of World War II and served two tours of duty. He was one of the original sailors commissioned to serve on the Salerno Aircraft Carrier and served at the Kodiak Island submarine base. He was a very loving and much loved member of Highland Park Christian Church.
John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leona Huber, sister, Doris Mivelaz, brothers, Sam L. and George E Huber and a sister, Pat Tetrick.
He is survived by his sister, Alice Bohannon and many nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
A celebration of John’s life will be conducted at 10 am on Saturday, April 19, 2014 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8 pm Friday, April 18, 2014 and after 9am the day of the funeral.
