John was a linebacker for the 1954 Male HS Football State Champions and he loved his sports. He was an avid bowler and a member of the Tuesday and Friday Senior Bowling leagues at King Pin Bowling Alley. He always had a smile for you and encouraged friends and strangers alike.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Jones; brothers, Edmund Jones, J.C. Jones, Roscoe Jones, and Howard Jones; and his sister, Gladys Siers. He is survived by his son, John M. Jones Jr. (Melanie); daughter, Victoria L. Valensky (Dana); grandchildren, Jessica Capek (Dave), Sarah Seabrook Jones (Michael), Jonesie Elizabeth Seabrook, Laura P. Wiggs (Christopher), and John Merritte Jones (Alesha); great-grandchildren, Madeline Capek, Savannah Capek, Emma Capek, Jaylie Wiggs, Salvator Grillo, Lydia Wiggs, Atticus Grillo, Olivia Jones, and Johnny Jones.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Friday, January 31, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 am - 2 pm Friday at the funeral home.
