He was a former maintenance engineer at Colgate-Palmolive and a retired Master Sergeant with Kentucky Air National Guard. John also volunteered for many years with the Indiana Special Olympics.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ellen Lancaster; and brother, Thomas Lancaster.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ruth Lancaster and Joe Lancaster (Laury); and nieces, Carla Lancaster and Pam Lancaster (TX).
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 am-2 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in memory of John can be made to the Indiana Special Olympics.
