John G. Putnam Sr., 89, of Louisville passed away March 17, 2015 at Norton Hosparus Inpatient Care Center. He was born on May 22, 1925 in Louisville to the late Lawrence and Alice Putnam. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church , the VFW and was retired from Colgate.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Putnam; a son, John G. Putnam Jr., and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son, Albert Putnam (Kathleen Forst); and a sister, Rita Murr.
A celebration of life will be conducted Monday, March 23, 2015 at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation from 2-8 on Sunday at the funeral home.
