If someone could manage to sing LOUDER than I could at a concert.....it was John!  He was so in his glory when all of us went to see Journey at the Kentucky State Fair.....I will always remember him that way - singing at the top of his lungs!  Angie, I'm so sorry that you, Gabi and Emily have to go through this pain and I will keep you in my heart.

Angela, I am so sad to hear of John's passing. Suzanne Maddux, my cousin ,told us about a great friend passing but never told us the last name. They were so upset because they had shared so much  fun with you and John. Sending prayers your way.

Everyday John told stories about his girls and the look on his face as he was talking about Gabi and Emily showed how much he loved them. He loved sharing their pictures and keeping us updated on their next adventure. I worked with John at PCS and he was a pleasure to be around. Sending prayers to his family.

       We will miss you, John!   Such a dynamite personality who had an abundance amount of love for his wife and beautiful daughters.    
       My parents have been long time friends with John's family, especially growing up in the Filipino community here in Louisville.  I am so saddened to here that he was called to heaven so soon.  I'm glad that my family and I were blessed to have known him.
         He touched so many lives through is music and energy, and my heart goes out to his family & close friends during this difficult time of loss.

John Tobias was one of a kind; every morning he would share new pictures of  "his girls" taken from his cell phone.  If the girls had a special activity at school, he would make sure he was there...his family was his first and only priority in life.  To say that I will miss him is an understatement...he was a special person.

Remembering your great love story today and always.

Wow, surely this can't be so! What a gaping hole John leaves in this world. One didn't have to know John personally to know what a genuine, caring person he was. Even just in his professional role at PCS his integrity, humor and sincere desire to help others came through. You will be missed, John. God's blessings on your family at this tragic and sorrowful time.

John, you and my good friend, Sister Yvonne both left us on Sunday.  You are missed!  I am grateful for each memory I have of you....most just bring

Not only did I attend a couple of years with John at DuPont Manual, I also hired him as the DJ for our 25 year high school reunion in Oct 2015.  Sending prayers to the family.

John was such a bright star at every Father Daughter dance he attended. His love for life will be missed. God's speed John.

He was our resident DJ and turned all of our events into such fun memories.  Our most cherished memories will be how he 'rocked the block' every Halloween night - his music selection was spot on and the kids were so excited as the music got closer . . . dancing and laughing (the adults too). My most recent memory of John is dancing the night away as he DJ'd a Humane Society event.  I sprained a toe that night...but, it was so much fun because of John!

We are so sorry for your loss... John was so special to all the kids at SMM... he was always there playing the DJ'd music while dancing and singing along with them.  He always brought the party! Along the years he brought smiles to hundreds and hundreds of children!  Please know you and our family are in our prayers during this sad and difficult time...

Dear Tobias family, In August of 2015, I had the great pleasure of meeting John.  My son was starting 6th grade, and this would be his first year at SMM.  School would start in a couple of weeks and I had arrived early for a meeting.  I'm a single mom and I remember be extra stressed that day about several things that were going on.  It was hot, and I rolled down my window to cool off.  As I did, I heard a voice singing a Frank Sinatra song.  I sat in my van and smiled.  I love Frank Sinatra and whoever was singing didn't care who heard.  The voice was so full of joy...and he sang the song well.  I got out of my van, followed the voice, and saw an incredibly happy man, sitting in his car, singing.  I introduced myself, and so did he.  I was glad to learn he was a SMM parent - and hoped this new school would be full of parents just like him.  I had the pleasure of seeing John off and on at different SMM events, and at the cast party after last year's performances of Peter Pan Jr.   And each time I saw him, I couldn't help but notice the joy he brought to those around him, and how he always seemed to have a smile on his face.  Which is why I won't forget our first meeting.  He had the same affect on me.  I went from being a stressed out single mom, to happily walking (almost skipping) up the steps to my appointment, humming a Frank Sinatra song - a little louder than I normally would have.  I can't imagine what you all must be going through.  And I am truly, very sorry for your loss.  And also for the loss to all who knew John, or just met him - like me.  Because the truth is, John's passing will affect many people.  I know it has me.  Your family will be in my prayers.  Alisa Buckminster

Angela, I'm so saddened to hear about the passing of your husband John. I remember meeting him at the Semonin anniversary party and he made the night so fun with his music. Your girls and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

It was a pleasure working with John on his IT requests. He was usually able to lighten my day with his comments. He was a blessing and will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Tobias family.  I have known John's mother,  Dr. Angelita Tobias, for several years and she is one of the msot thoughtful and kind people I know. May God be with her in this time of sorrow as well as the other family members.
