Joseph Lee “Joe” Fenton, 60, of Louisville, Kentucky, left us on June 29th, 2025, of a broken heart, rejoining his beloved wife, Peggi Sue, and his treasured father, David Fenton, in eternal rest. Joe was born on July 27th, 1964, in Louisville, and spent his life rooted in the same city, building cherished memories and friendships. A dedicated journeyman electrician with Local Union 369, Joe was not only a skilled craftsman, but also a treasured individual to his family and friends.
An adventurous spirit, Joe was well-known for his love of snakes and often entertained friends and family with stories of his unique pets. He brought humor and joy to any gathering with his smirky comments and jokes, with a smile that shone most brightly when speaking about his family. Joe’s passions included fishing in Louisiana or anywhere water met sky, and he took great pleasure in working in both his and his mother’s yard. His kindness and generosity were legendary, described by those who knew him as having the heart the size of Texas.
His proudest moment was the birth of his cherished son, Lee Joseph Fenton. Joe was a devoted father to his step-daughter, Jennifer Doud (Terry). He leaves behind his mother Marlene, brother John Fenton (Gayle), sister June Fenton (Tommy), son Lee, daughter Jennifer, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous friends who treasured his laughter and generosity.
Friends are encouraged to remember Joe by sharing laughter and kindness, matching the big heart he was known for. Joe will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
A visitation for Joe will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, July 5th from 11:00am to 2:00pm. A funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00pm.
